NYSED requires those with Professional Certificates to “successfully complete 100 clock hours of acceptable CTLE during the registration period.” The registration period is a five-year period, beginning when the certificate holder registers their PROFESSIONAL certificate with NYSED. (This requirement does not apply to INITIAL certificate holders.)

NYSED states that the responsibility lies with the professional certificate holder to seek out, complete, and track CTLE hours.

Professional certificate holders should log in, annually, to NWCSD’s CTLE hour tracking system, PDP Premier, to check that the Superintendent Conference Day hours for which they were present are appropriately logged: https://apps.wnyric.org/web/pdp-premier

Credentials for PDP Premier are the same as those used to log into an NWCSD computer.

Certificate holders may, if they wish, print out certificates for their records. Certificate holders may also, if they wish, maintain a separate record of completed CTLE hours. NYSED provides a sample recordkeeping form on their website.

When the time comes for a PROFESSIONAL certificate holder to re-register (after five years), they will simply “attest” that they have completed the necessary CTLE hours at that time. Certificates of completion are only required in the case of a NYSED audit.

Note: Only instructional staff with PROFESSIONAL certificates have accounts in PDP Premier. If you are experiencing difficulty logging in, or don’t see hours that you anticipated, please contact Kim Meisenburg at 215-3004. You may need to update HR with a name change or your new certificate.

Note: In 2016, NYSED eliminated the State system that was previously used to record / upload completed professional development hours. As such, NYS School Districts no longer communicate completed hours to NYSED. There is no State portal that maintains any record of actual CTLE hours.
