FAFSA Information
The Department of Education has committed to opening the FAFSA December 1.
We added videos from the Office of Federal Student Aid to help students and families prepare to file.
To ensure your students and their families are prepared to file the FAFSA as soon as it’s available, we recommend they create studentaid.gov accounts now, if they haven’t already. Why is it important for families to file the FAFSA as soon as possible? Doing so will help ensure students’ financial aid offers are based on accurate information. Plus, it allows colleges to determine if other institutional aid is available to students.

NYS TAP
The New York State Tuition Assistance Program (TAP) helps eligible New York residents pay tuition at approved schools in New York State. An annual TAP award can be up to $5,665. Because TAP is a grant, it does not have to be paid back.
The 2024-25 TAP application is now open through June 30, 2024. Students do not need to wait until the 2024-25 FAFSA is released to complete their TAP application. However, students will need to complete their FAFSA once it opens and no later than February 15, 2024. Apply Now.
